Terms of use

Nambu is a community map of Chennai spots: street food, cafes, hangouts and more, each rated by people who were actually there. Every review is location-checked, so the map shows what visitors really think.

Anyone can browse the map. To add places or post reviews you must be 18 or older and signed in with Google. You confirm your age when you pick your username.

• Honest, first-hand reviews only: say what you saw, ate or experienced yourself.
• Photos of food, stalls or shopfronts only. No faces.
• No personal names or phone numbers of vendors or anyone else.
• No business logos or branding in photos or text.
• No harassment, hate, sexual content or anything illegal.
• Don't add private homes. Only places people can walk into.

Posting a review or adding a place needs your phone's live GPS position, and it has to be near the spot. Don't fake or spoof it. Faked locations and the content posted with them get removed.

We may hide or remove content that breaks these rules. Content reported by several people is hidden automatically while we check it, then restored or removed. You can delete your own reviews in the app at any time.

Use Report on any place or review, or Request removal / I own this place on a place, both in the app. You can also email the grievance officer below.

Owners, managers, staff and residents can ask us to act when a listing:

• is a private home, not a business
• shows personal info (a name, phone number or a photo of a person)
• is closed, moved or has wrong details
• is their business and they want it taken down (opt-out)

Private homes and personal info are acted on quickly. Closed or wrong details get fixed or removed. Opt-outs are reviewed case by case, because reviews are visitors' honest opinions; we'll get back to you either way. Please don't send ID documents; if we need more, we'll email you.

We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days. Content that exposes a person's private images or impersonates someone is acted on within 24 hours.

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us permission to show it on the map, on your profile, in link previews and on the shareable story cards made from your reviews, for as long as it's on Nambu.

Nambu is provided as is, without warranty. We can change these terms; the date at the top tells you when we last did. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute goes to the courts at Chennai.
